The week gone… It’s been a busy week with wedding planning; making invitations, discussing cakes and deciding on the final guest list without crumbling under the pressure from our families. Ah the joys! So, I did get a little behind in writing reviews and hope to catch up over the next couple of days.
If you haven’t already, please enter the giveaway (AU only) to win a copy of Blackwattle Lake by Pamela Cook. I really recommend reading her book.
I also posted reviews for Tempt the Devil by Anna Campbell and Fetish by Tara Moss- both Aussie authors who I’d love to read more of. My review for Big Sky River also went up on the blog.
For review: I received a copy of Katherine Howell’s new thriller, Web of Deceit. She lives in QLD, so this book will count toward AWW2013 challenge.
When paramedics Jane and Alex encounter a man refusing to get out of his crashed car with bystanders saying he deliberately drove into a pole, it looks like a desperate cry for help. His frantic claim that someone is out to get him adds to their thinking that he is delusional. Later that day he is found dead under a train in what might be a suicide, but Jane is no longer so sure…Detective Ella Marconi shares Jane’s doubts, which are only compounded when the case becomes increasingly tangled. Then, just when she thinks she’s closing in on the right person, a shocking turn of events puts more people in danger and might just see the killer slip through her hands.
The week ahead…
I’m currently reading Garden of Stones and Rough Diamond and enjoying them both so far. I’ll have the reviews up for these this week hopefully.
You can also expect to see a fun Q&A with Aussie author, Jenny Schwartz and a review for her new short story Mistaken Engagement released by Escape Publishing this month.
Plus there will be an Australia Day Blog Hop Giveaway at the end of the month to celebrate our long weekend!
So, that’s it for me. What books have you added to your shelves this week?
I’m more than a little jealous, Lauren. I’m a huge fan of Katherine Howell and have been waiting, waiting, waiting for her latest release. Enjoy!!
This will be my first Howell novel and I’m really looking forward to it. I hope you get a chance to pick up a copy too, Helene!
I haven’t read any of Katherine Howell, but this one sounds great. Can’t wait to read your thoughts. Oh I saw Garden of Stones at the shops the other day and almost grabbed it, so I can’t wait to see what you thought and I can go back and get it. Good luck with the wedding plans, it is a lot of fun!

I just finished Garden of Stones and it was such a a great read. My review will be up later in the week, Katie.
I’m looking forwards to reading Web of Deciet as well!
It looks great doesn’t it, Shelleyrae? I’ll keep an eye out for your review!
That book sounds awesome. I hope you love it!
My StS
Oooh, this book sounds really good. I like thrillers, but don’t need really enough of them. I tend to find I read more YA/Paranormal-romance because it’s a quicker read.
Are you getting married?
Great haul. Happy reading.
I know what you mean Livvy, my fallback is usually romance or rural lit because they are easy and quick to read but i like to read the occasional thriller to keep me on my toes!
Yep, I’m getting married in May… not long to go!
