Once there, she's shocked to discover that she and Luc have an unexpected connection—a connection Luc already knew existed, but withheld. Will their intense attraction reach flashpoint despite their misunderstandings and the pain of the past?Review: When FBI agent Lucas Vasco jumps into Katie McCabe’s car during a police chase, she quickly becomes an assassination target of the Mafia who want her out of the picture. Unable to return to her usual life, Katie moves into Lucas’s home under his protection. They have an instant chemistry and a longstanding connection which draws them to each other.Katie is a feisty and stubborn character with wild red hair and freckles who can be quite endearing and also a pain as she ignites the fiery and stubbornness traits in Lucas also. Their tension is entertaining and complimented by lots of tender moments as the author shows us the soft and vulnerable sides of these two outwardly tough characters. I also love the role of the boisterous large bundle of fur, Spot (Lucas’s dog) who has a personality of her own.Katie and Lucas both have inner conflicts and difficulties sharing their feelings and being emotionally vulnerable. These barriers created many challenges in their developing relationship but kept the storyline flowing. Lucas and Katie go on many escapades to keep safe from the Mafia and so there is plenty of action and suspense. An entertaining romance novel with strong characters and an interesting storyline.
