I have enjoyed the saga thus far and the author’s take on fallen angels. The heroine, Nora discovered in the last book that she is Nephilim and swore an oath to her dying father (and enemy) Hank, that she would lead his army.The problem is, his army is in on the verge of a war with the fallen angels, one of which is Nora’s boyfriend Patch. Nora and Patch have had their ups and downs but in Finale they decide to fake a break-up to mislead the incensed Nephilim army and help them accept her as their leader. At the same time Nora and Patch try to find a way to stop the war.Dante, Hank’s previous leading man takes on the role of Nora’s personal Nephilim trainer to help improve her physical strength and mental capabilities. She discovers she is far more powerful than she once thought. But when he forces her to drink a blue substance that gives her an additional boost, Nora craves the drug and succumbs to the hunger.There’s a lot that happens in Finale and the pace remained suspenseful with twists and turns, faithful to the mood of the entire series. But as I reached the last fifty pages, I began to wonder how everything was going to be resolved in such a short period of time. It ended a little quickly but there was an epilogue that fast-forwards to 3 years later and ties up the loose ends.Finale, like its counterparts was a well plotted book with plenty of suspense and this is what I enjoyed about the series. It’s one of the few YA paranormal series written in the first person that I really like. There were certainly times when Nora annoyed the hell out of me and Patch got under my skin and towards the end it all got a bit mushy and didn’t really fit with the mood of the story (in my opinion) but overall it was a satisfactory ending that left me feeling happy with Nora and Patch’s happily ever after- FINALLY!If you like your YA series with a solid plot and plenty of suspense and a marked intensity between the heroine and hero, then the Hush, Hush series may just be for you.
